The Zone diet, created by Barry Sears, is one of the most popular diets in Hollywood.
The Zone Diet is another low carb diet. It is not as low in carbs as the Atkins diet and is a healthier alternative. The Zone Diet claims that you should eat a balance of 40% carbohydrates, 30% fat, and 30% protein. It suggests eating three meals and two snacks a day.
Like most other diet plans on the market, the Zone Diet has its pros and cons. One of the best things about the Zone Diet is its inclusion of all foods. There is nothing forbidden on the Zone Diet, making it easier to stick with than some plans that restrict your favorite foods.
Stay away from Certain Carbohydrates
Just because a food is not forbidden does not mean that it is recommended. White rice, pastas, and bread are not the best way to get your carbohydrates. Instead, you should focus on vegetables and whole grains. For your protein, you should choose lean meats instead of foods high in saturated fats.
Because you choose which foods to eat, how much weight you lose and how healthy your diet is depends on the choices you make.
A plan based on your personal size
Unfortunately, it can be complicated to follow the Zone diet. In order to keep with the 40-30-30 ratio, you eat from Zone Food Blocks. These blocks have a standard amount of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. A person eats a certain number blocks for each meal. The number of blocks for each person is calculated based on height, weight, and hip and waist circumferences.
Low calories that don't need counted
The Zone Diet is a calorie restrictive diet. Meals should not exceed 500 calories and snacks should be no more than 100 calories. Weight loss on the Zone diet stems from the low calorie aspect. Since you base your meal around your blocks, you do not need to count every calorie.
One of the best things about the Zone Diet is the amount of food available on it. If you hate cooking, you can have Zone diet food delivered to your door weekly. This can be costly, but it is easier than trying to keep to the ratio on your own.
